These are often great places to get leads but they can all too often also end up as expensive affairs that yield little. You need to make sure that if you are operating a booth that it looks good. A table with a bowl of chocolates and a vase of flowers is simply not going to cut it. You need to make it look like you have made some effort and put a bit of thought into the process. Is your goal to collect business cards, close deals, build the brand? There are so many potential objectives, the key is to know what they are. Prizes need to be worthwhile enough to ensure the visit and there should be some sort of call to action which will qualify them for a prize. It might be a social media mention or leaving a business card or signing up for a service or product. Whatever it is, make sure that it fits with your marketing goals.
